  As more and more devices get connected, we are approaching the era of Smart Home and "Internet of Things" (IoT).

 Smart TV, with its established position in the household, is expected to become one of the important hubs of the 

 interconnected Internet of Things. In this context, one of the dangers is market fragmentation and lack of interoperabilty

 among many of these services. In this presentation, we will see the current trend in the IoT scene, drawing cases from

 vibrant global standardization activities, and how Smart TV can play a central role in this new trend in the market.
